ChamberMaster Alternatives: 9 Platforms Chambers Switch To

Most chambers don’t go looking for a ChamberMaster alternative because the software stopped working. They go looking because the renewal quote arrived, or because a staff member left and took the only working knowledge of the system with them, or because a board member asked why the member directory looks the way it does.

This is a straight comparison of the nine ChamberMaster alternatives chambers most often move to, what you gain in each case, and what you give up. We checked every price against the vendor’s own website on 4 September 2026.

ChamberMaster alternatives: first, what ChamberMaster gets right

It’s worth being honest about this, because if you switch for the wrong reason you’ll be unhappy in a different system within eighteen months.

ChamberMaster was built for chambers specifically, and it has been for a long time. It models things general membership software simply doesn’t have: member-to-member referrals, hot deals, sponsorship and advertising inventory, job boards, the reporting formats a chamber board expects. Its member directory is one of the most mature public business directories in the category. It’s now part of GrowthZone, and if you call another chamber director and ask what they run, this is still the most common answer.

If those chamber-native features are load-bearing for your operation, most of the “modern” alternatives on this list will feel like a downgrade in that specific area, whatever else they improve.

The four reasons chambers actually leave

The price isn’t knowable in advance

ChamberMaster historically published an all-pricing PDF. As of September 2026 that document returns a 404, and the packages page lists four editions, Standard, Plus, Premier and Pro, with no dollar figures. Every path leads to a demo. That’s a legitimate sales model, but it makes budgeting hard and it makes comparing shortlists harder.

Members don’t open the email

This isn’t a ChamberMaster problem specifically; it’s an email problem, and it affects every platform whose only channel to members is an inbox. But it’s the most common operational complaint we hear from chamber directors, and it’s the reason a member app comes up in so many switching conversations.

The interface costs staff time

Mature software carries its history. For a chamber with two or three staff and a rotating cast of volunteers, the training overhead is a real recurring cost, and it lands hardest exactly when someone leaves.

You’re paying for an association system and running a chamber

Or the reverse. Some chambers outgrow ChamberMaster into GrowthZone’s association tooling. Others discover they’re paying for depth they never touch and would be better served by something simpler and cheaper.

Read off each vendor own pricing page, September 2026. Platform fees only. Every platform here that takes card payments does so through a processor such as Stripe, whose US standard rate is 2.9% + $0.30, and that is charged on top unless a vendor states its rate is all-inclusive.

Which one suits which chamber, in a sentence each. Kannect if you are consolidating a five-tool stack into one. GrowthZone if you expect to grow into full association features. MemberClicks MC Trade if membership sales operations are the job. Novi AMS if your finance runs through QuickBooks. Wild Apricot for simplicity and the most generous trial in this list. Glue Up for event-led or multi-chapter chambers. MembershipWorks for a small budget and a website you already like. ClubExpress if a predictable per-member cost matters more than anything else. Join It if you want to keep the tools you already have and only add memberships.

1. Kannect

What it’s. Not an AMS. Kannect is a community engagement platform with the chamber pieces built in, which makes it a different kind of move from the rest of this list. The AMS products below replace ChamberMaster on its own terms. Kannect addresses the reason most chambers were unhappy with it.

What you gain. One system for the directory, events and ticketing, dues, payments, messaging and a native member app, so announcements reach members without an inbox in the middle. Membership types, tiers and applications. Groups and programs for committees and councils. A branded community site. Campaigns and fundraising with no Kannect fee on nonprofit donations. Every plan carries the whole platform, tiers differ by how many people, admins and groups you get, not by which features are switched on. Payments run on Stripe. You connect your bank once, and money from events, memberships, programs and donations lands in your own account, usually within three business days. Kannect never holds your money.

Growth$149/mo$1,428/yr5,000101.5%
Scale$299/mo$2,868/yr15,000251%
Yearly billing saves 20%. Platform fee is 0% on nonprofit donations. Admin seats are included, not charged per seat. Self-onboarding, no required setup fee; optional setup from a one-time $150. Seven-day free trial, cancel anytime, no long-term contracts.

2. GrowthZone

What you gain. More association-grade capability: committees, certifications, chapters, a learning management system, a members-only community. Worth knowing that GrowthZone owns ChamberMaster, so this is less a switch than an upgrade within the same family, which makes the data migration the easiest on this list.

What you give up. Nothing structurally, but you keep the thing most chambers cite as the reason for leaving: pricing isn’t published, and the useful modules (community, learning, payments) are priced separately from the core system.

Pricing. Not published. Three AMS tiers plus add-ons, quote only.

3. MemberClicks MC Trade

What you gain. A genuinely sales-shaped system. MC Trade is built around prospecting, dues renewals and sponsorship pipelines more explicitly than most competitors, which suits a chamber with a dedicated membership salesperson. Their published library of member communication templates is the best in the category.

What you give up. Budget flexibility; this is a five-figure annual commitment and contracts are annual by default. The published figures are floors, and real quotes tend to land above them. Their visible product investment through 2026 has shifted toward learning management, which is worth probing if the chamber features are what you’re buying.

Pricing. From $3,500 annually (MC Trade); MC Professional from $4,500. Transaction and setup fees not published.

4. Novi AMS

What you gain. The best accounting story in the category by a distance. Novi is built around QuickBooks rather than integrated with it, and if your treasurer lives in QuickBooks this will end a recurring monthly argument. It’s also the most transparent vendor here: six tiers published with exact figures, and published onboarding fees, which almost nobody else discloses.

What you give up. A lot of money, and pricing predictability of a different kind; Novi bands by your annual revenue, so a strong year raises your software bill. Their entry tier starts above where most of this list finishes. Note also that Novi’s own cornerstone software guides haven’t been updated since 2019.

Pricing. Core $829/mo to $400K revenue ($3,600 onboarding); Prime $1,285 ($4,650); Premier $1,760 ($6,950); Elite $2,230 ($9,300); Advanced $2,750 ($13,900); Enterprise from $3,622 (from $20,900). All billed annually.

5. Wild Apricot

What you gain. Simplicity, and the cleanest fee position on this page: no setup fees, no customization fees, no training fees, no per-transaction fees, no cancellation fees. Every plan includes every feature. The 60-day trial with no credit card is the most generous evaluation window available anywhere in this category.

What you give up. Chamber vocabulary entirely. There are no referrals, no hot deals, no sponsorship inventory, no ribbon cuttings; it’s built for clubs, nonprofits and associations generally. Pricing scales on total contacts, which includes lapsed members and event attendees, so your bill is driven by a larger number than your membership count.

Pricing. $66/mo at 100 contacts; $59.40 prepaid one year; $56.10 prepaid two. Tiers step at 100, 250, 500, 2,000, 5,000, 15,000 and 50,000 contacts, shown through an on-page calculator.

6. Glue Up

What you gain. Events, done properly, registration, ticketing, check-in, sponsorship and a solid attendee app. It’s also the only platform here with real depth in chapter management, which matters if your chamber runs councils, committees or regional branches that need their own space.

What you give up. Price transparency, the published figures are wide ranges, all plans are billed annually, and despite being event-led no ticketing or transaction percentage is published anywhere. Their chamber content and case studies skew heavily toward Asia-Pacific rather than North America.

Pricing. Professional from $3,000 to $6,500/yr; Advanced from $8,000 to $18,500/yr; Enterprise custom.

7. MembershipWorks

What you gain. The lowest cost on this page and unusually blunt terms: no hidden fees, no cut of your payments, no contract, and a genuinely free tier to 50 accounts. It embeds into a website you already have rather than replacing it, which suits a chamber that recently paid for a site.

What you give up. Depth. Reporting is basic, there’s no native member app, and the member experience is only as good as the site you embed into. Support is email-based. This is a membership layer, not a chamber operating system.

Pricing. Free to 50 accounts; $35/mo to 300, $59 to 600, $95 to 1,200, $145 to 2,500, $205 to 5,000, $259 to 10,000. No contract, 30-day money-back guarantee.

8. ClubExpress

What you gain. Pricing you can calculate on an envelope: a flat per-member-per-month rate that drops as you grow. Feature coverage is broad for the money, website, directory, events, dues, committees, email.

What you give up. Chamber-specific tooling, and some pricing clarity at the edges: the live page names a one-time setup fee, merchant processing and “extra cost functions” without stating amounts. Be careful with their older pricing PDF; it’s still reachable, stamped 2017, and shows lower rates than they charge now.

Pricing. 42¢/member/mo to 200 members, 38¢ to 300, 34¢ to 500, 30¢ to 1,000, lower above. Secondary members 20¢ to 14¢. $24/mo minimum.

9. Join It

What you gain. Speed of setup and honest fee disclosure. It integrates cleanly with Mailchimp, Stripe, QuickBooks, Salesforce, Zapier and Eventbrite, so it suits a chamber keeping most of its current stack. Digital membership cards are a real strength. There’s a 10% nonprofit discount.

What you give up. Chamber features entirely, no sponsorship, referral or non-dues revenue tooling. Pricing scales by admin seats, which penalises chambers with several part-time staff and volunteers. The entry-tier service fee of 3% sits on top of Stripe’s own processing.

Pricing. Starter $29/mo (3 seats, 3%); Total $99/mo (5 seats, 2%); Extra $199/mo (10 seats, 1.5%). No setup cost, free trial without a card. Their published annual rate for the Extra tier didn’t reconcile with the monthly rate when we checked, confirm it in writing.

Before you switch from ChamberMaster: five things to settle

  1. Get your export first. Ask ChamberMaster for a full data export and look at it before you sign anything. Members, contacts, historical dues, event history, and any custom fields your chamber built over the years. What comes out determines what’s possible.
  2. Count your contacts, not just your members. If you’re shortlisting a contact-priced platform, that number is your bill. It’s usually five to ten times your member count.
  3. Decide what happens to the website. Some platforms expect to own it; some embed into what you have. Discovering this after signing is the most common expensive surprise in this category.
  4. Confirm renewal timing. Most contracts here are annual. Know your notice period before you start demos, or you’ll pay for an overlap year.
  5. Ask who does the migration. You, them, or a paid third party, and what the fee is. Novi publishes onboarding from $3,600; most vendors don’t publish theirs, which isn’t the same as free. Kannect is self-onboarding with no required setup fee, and an optional one-time $150 if you want it done for you.

Where Kannect fits

Kannect is our product, so check the pricing page yourself. It’s a community engagement platform with the chamber features built in, not an association management system, and that distinction is the point rather than a hedge.

Memberships, properly. One membership type with multiple pricing tiers on every plan, or multiple membership types each with their own tiers on the higher plans. Custom application forms, manual or automatic approval, and a welcome flow that drops a new member straight into the conversation. Discounts and renewals are built in, so nobody’s tracking who gets the early-bird rate in a spreadsheet.

And the rest of the organization. A member directory with unlimited listings on every plan, and multiple directories side by side on the higher plans for sponsors, alumni, partners or your team. Groups and programs for chapters, committees and cohorts, each with its own conversation and analytics. A people database with statuses for member, alumni, donor, staff, parent and student, which members keep current themselves from the app. Events, broadcast email, a community website and a member app.

The part that matters most day to day is reach. Every opted-in member receives every announcement. No algorithm decides who sees it, and there’s no per-contact overage bill for sending it. Payments run on Stripe and land in your own account, usually within three business days. Kannect never holds your money, and registered nonprofits pay 0% Kannect fee on donations.

For a chamber the membership model is the whole job, and it’s rarely simple. Business tiers by employee count, a nonprofit rate, an individual or affiliate tier, sponsors who are members and members who are sponsors. You get multiple membership types each with their own tiers on the higher plans, with applications, approvals, renewals and discounts handled rather than tracked. Sponsors and members can sit in separate directories side by side.

A quick tour of Kannect: memberships, events, payments and announcements in one place.

Most organizations start with one job, usually events, payments or the directory, and bring the rest across as they need it. Setup is self-serve at no cost. If you’d rather we build the account for you, that’s an optional one time service starting at $150.

We write separately for chambers and for nonprofits, and there’s a wider comparison in the best community engagement platforms.

ChamberMaster alternatives: FAQs

How much does ChamberMaster cost?

ChamberMaster doesn’t publish pricing. Four editions exist, Standard, Plus, Premier and Pro, and pricing is by quote following a demo. A pricing PDF that circulated previously now returns a 404 on their own domain, so any figure you find on a comparison site should be treated as unverified.

Is GrowthZone the same as ChamberMaster?

Same company, different products. GrowthZone owns ChamberMaster and the two share a product and content operation. ChamberMaster is the chamber-focused product; GrowthZone AMS is the broader association platform. Moving between them is an upgrade path rather than a competitive switch, which makes it the lowest-risk migration on this list.

Can I export my data from ChamberMaster?

Yes, and you should request it early in the process rather than at the end. Ask specifically for member records, contact records, historical dues and payment history, event registrations, and any custom fields. Check whether the export includes attachments and member logos, which frequently don’t travel.

How long does switching take?

Four to twelve weeks for a chamber under 1,000 members, and most of that’s data cleanup rather than software setup. Plan a full quarter if you have years of accounting history or complex event records. The best time to start is right after your largest annual event and well before renewal season.

Will we lose our member directory rankings in Google?

Only if the URLs change without redirects. If your public directory currently ranks for local business searches, ask any prospective vendor how directory URLs are structured and whether they support 301 redirects from your existing paths. This is a genuinely important question that rarely comes up in demos.

What’s the cheapest ChamberMaster alternative?

MembershipWorks, which is free to 50 accounts and $35/mo to 300, and takes no cut of your payments. For chambers that need more than a membership layer, Kannect at $29/mo to 500 people and ClubExpress at 42¢ per member are the next lowest published options.
