Kanexon, Inc. ("Kannect," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Kannect Platform, including kannect.co, the Kannect Community Hub mobile app, public community pages at web.kannect.co, the Kannect Discover network at discover.kannect.co, and the dashboard at app.kannect.co. We are committed to protecting your privacy and giving you full control over your data. This policy explains how to request access to or deletion of your personal data.
What data we collect
Kannect stores data to support community engagement for Organizations (schools, nonprofits, chambers, HOAs, government, public safety, faith communities, membership orgs) and their Members. This may include:
- Profile data — name, email, phone (if provided)
- Event participation, messages, announcements, and tasks
- Interaction history within groups and communities
- Public organization profile on Kannect Discover (if your org opted in)
All data is hosted securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
How to request data deletion
To request access to your data or to have it permanently deleted, email us at hello@kannect.co with:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your Kannect account
- The name of the Organization(s) you're part of (if applicable)
- Whether you'd like your data retrieved or deleted
We will respond within 5–7 business days to verify your identity and begin the retrieval or deletion process.
Account deletion through the app
You can also delete your account directly in the Kannect Community Hub mobile app:
- Open the Kannect app and log in.
- Tap the menu and go to Profile.
- Tap Manage Kannect Account and choose Delete Account.
- Verify your identity via email and password to confirm.
Once confirmed, your account is archived immediately and permanently deleted within 30 days.
Retention policy
Unless you specifically request deletion, we retain your data for as long as necessary to:
- Provide services and maintain functionality for your Organization.
- Comply with legal or contractual obligations.
- Prevent fraud or abuse and maintain security.
If your account is inactive, deactivated, or hibernated, your data is not automatically deleted. When we no longer need data, we anonymize it so it cannot be linked back to you.
For Organizations
Organization admins can request deletion of their community's data by contacting us at hello@kannect.co. We work directly with your admin to verify identity, confirm data ownership, and process deletion in accordance with our data retention and security policies. Need to export your community's data instead? Same email — we'll deliver a full copy within 30 days (or sooner where required by your country's compliance laws). Self-serve export from the dashboard is on the roadmap.
Legal basis
We comply with all applicable laws, including:
- GDPR — Right to access and erasure (Articles 15–17)
- CCPA — Right to delete personal data (§1798.105)
- LGPD — Brazilian data subject rights to access and deletion
