What your website shows
The nav, the sections of the home page, and where each one's content comes from in your dashboard.
Your community website is generated from what you post, so it is worth knowing which field ends up where.
The navigation
Across the top of your site:
- Home
- About
- Memberships, a dropdown with All memberships and then one entry per membership type you use, for example Business, Vendor, Volunteer.
- Directory, a dropdown with All directory and then one entry per directory type, for example Board Members, Locations, Members, Partners, Sponsors, Team Members.
- Events
- Campaigns
- Resources
- Groups
- Join
The two dropdowns are the reason membership types and directory types shape your site more than anything else you do. Each type you create is a menu item and a page. Three clear types beat eight overlapping ones.
The home page, section by section
The top. Your organization name, your About text and your Quote, exactly as written on Community Profile. This is the paragraph most visitors read and the only one some of them read.
Campaigns. "Back the causes and campaigns that matter most to our community." Each campaign shows its image, its name, the percentage of goal reached, Raised and Goal, and a Donate Now button. View all campaigns at the end.
Events. "Find upcoming events, gatherings, and activities you won't want to miss." Each event shows an In-person, Online or Hybrid badge, the name, the date and time, and the location, in a carousel you can page through. View all events.
Resources. "Guides, updates, and resources to keep you informed and connected." Each resource shows its title, its tags and the date it was posted. View all resources.
Connect. "Choose how you'd like to connect and become part of our community." Your groups and programs, each with its description, Member Benefits and a Join Now button. View all groups.
The footer. Your contact email, your social links, and a panel inviting people to download the Kannect app, with a QR code to scan.
What does not show
Announcements do not appear on your website. They reach the app and email only. If you want something publicly visible, post it as a resource or an event.
