Kannect vs ChamberMaster
The honest comparison. ChamberMaster is association management software: it tracks who your members are and whether they have paid. Kannect is community management software, built to get those members showing up. Here is the difference, and which one your chamber actually needs.

The honest take
ChamberMaster administers your membership. Kannect brings it together.
These are two different categories of software, and the choice is not about which one has more features. An association management system is a system of record. It holds who your members are, what tier they are on, when they renew, and what they owe. ChamberMaster does that job, and if your chamber needs deep billing, sponsorship tooling, and non-dues revenue modules, that is what it is for.
But a system of record does not make anyone show up. The complaint we hear from chamber directors is not that the database is wrong. It is that members pay dues, attend one mixer, and disappear until the renewal notice. No amount of record-keeping fixes that, because it was never a records problem.
Kannect is built for the other half: events people actually hear about, messages that reach every member, groups and committees that stay active between mixers, and a public page where the wider community can find you. It is $276 a year, published, with a seven-day trial and no demo required.

Be honest about the fit
When you need an AMS
- Billing complexity is your real workload: prorated dues, chart of accounts, complex invoicing.
- Non-dues revenue is central: sponsorships, hot deals, job boards, member-to-member offers.
- You have staff whose job is administering the system.
- A four-figure annual line item and a procurement conversation are normal for you.
When you need community management
- Members renew out of habit and you rarely see them between mixers.
- Your announcements are not reaching the people they are for.
- Committees and groups go quiet between meetings.
- You want the wider community to be able to find your chamber, not just your members.
- You want your members reachable in an app they already use for their other communities.
- You want to see the price before you talk to anyone.

ChamberMaster and GrowthZone do not publish pricing. The $3,900 figure is GrowthZone's own published statement that its AMS starts as low as that annually. Setup fee and contract terms are quoted from GrowthZone's Terms of Service, August 2026. Ask them directly for a current quote.
Your members already have too many apps
A chamber member is also a parent in a booster club, a member of a congregation, and on the board of a nonprofit. Every one of those asks them to install something.
One app, every community
The Kannect Community Hub app holds every organization a member belongs to in one place. Your chamber update sits alongside their kid's band schedule and their church small group, in an app they already open. Nobody downloads a fifteenth app for a fifteenth membership.
Which is why your announcements land
An app a member opens weekly for four communities is an app your notification reaches. A single-purpose chamber app installed once and forgotten is not. Adoption is the feature, and it comes from the app being useful beyond you.
What quote-only pricing actually costs you
A price you cannot see is a price you cannot compare, and for a small chamber that is the real barrier.
You cannot budget before the call
An executive director taking a recommendation to the board needs a number first. A demo request is not a number, and the board meets monthly.
Setup fees arrive after you are invested
GrowthZone's terms confirm setup fees exist and are payable in advance. The amount is not published, so you find out during the sales process.
Renewal is the default
Their terms auto-renew annual subscriptions unless you give 30 days written notice, and permit revised renewal rates on 30 days notice.
None of this makes ChamberMaster a bad product. It makes it a system of record sold to chambers with procurement processes. If what you actually need is members who show up, that is a different purchase.
Common questions, answered
How much does ChamberMaster cost?
ChamberMaster and GrowthZone do not publish pricing. Their pricing page has no figures and directs you to request a demo or a custom quote. GrowthZone does state on its own site that its association and chamber AMS starts as low as $3,900 annually.
Does ChamberMaster charge setup fees?
GrowthZone's Terms of Service confirm that setup fees are invoiced separately and payable in advance. The amount is not published. Kannect has no setup fee.
Is Kannect an association management system?
No. Kannect is community management software. An AMS is a system of record built to administer a membership: who joined, what tier, when they renew. Kannect is built to engage that membership: events people hear about, messages that reach everyone, active groups, and a public page. Chambers that need deep billing and non-dues revenue modules should look at an AMS. Chambers whose members renew but never show up have a different problem.
