Kannect vs Mighty Networks
The honest comparison. Mighty Networks is built for creators building a paid audience. It calls its customers hosts, and that word explains most of the difference. Here is where each one fits.

The honest take
Mighty Networks is built for one person with an audience. Kannect is built for a community with members.
Mighty offers unlimited members on every plan, courses alongside community, and a white-label app for enterprise customers. If you are a creator selling access to an audience, it fits.
For a community the problems are structural. Mighty has no public discovery at all, so nobody finds you unless you send them. It has no event ticketing product, only a workaround their own documentation spells out. And its transaction fee only drops below 2% if you move up to $179 a month or the $17,000 a year enterprise plan.
Both of us charge a transaction fee. Kannect is a flat 2% on paid events, programs, and memberships at every plan, and 0% on nonprofit donations. Kannect is also $276 a year, gives your community a public verified page, and does real ticketing and check-in.

Nobody wants a fifteenth app
Every community platform eventually sells you a branded app. Mighty's starts at $17,000 a year. It is worth asking what that actually buys your members.
One app, every community
The Kannect Community Hub app holds every organization a person belongs to. Their chamber, their kid's booster club, their small group, their alumni chapter, all in one place. That is better for the member than four branded apps, and it costs nothing extra.
An app they keep is an app you reach
A single-purpose app gets installed for one event and deleted a month later, which is exactly when your announcement stops arriving. An app someone opens weekly for several communities keeps working for all of them.
A host is not an organization
Mighty calls its customers hosts, and the whole product follows from that. One person at the centre, an audience around them.
Nobody can find you
Their Discovery feature aggregates content from spaces you already belong to. There is no public directory, no search, no browse. Growth depends entirely on your own marketing.
Events are an afterthought
Their documentation tells you to create a dedicated space and sell a plan that grants access, in order to charge for one event. For an organization that runs events monthly, that is not a system.
Donations are charged like sales
We charge a transaction fee too, so this is not a fee-versus-no-fee argument. The difference is that Kannect waives it entirely on nonprofit donations, and Mighty has no donation concept to waive it on.
If you are a creator, none of this is a problem. If you are a chamber, a booster club, a congregation, or a nonprofit, all three are.
Common questions, answered
Does Mighty Networks charge a transaction fee?
Yes. Their published pricing shows 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale, and 0.5% on Mighty Pro, which starts at $17,000 a year. Kannect charges a transaction fee too, a flat 2% on paid events, programs, and memberships. The difference is that Kannect processes nonprofit donations at 0%.
Can people find our community on Mighty Networks?
No. Mighty's Discovery feature is internal, aggregating content from spaces a member already has access to. Their public showcase page is curated marketing with no search or browse. Every Mighty community is effectively unfindable from the outside.
Does Mighty Networks do event ticketing?
Not natively. Their own documentation prescribes a workaround: to charge for a single event you create a dedicated space and sell a plan that grants access to it. There is no ticketing product and no attendee check-in.
What does Kannect cost?
