Send a broadcast
One-off emails to your community, with opens, clicks and unsubscribes recorded for each one.
Applies toDashboard
A broadcast is an email you write and send once. It is the opposite of a triggered email, which the platform sends on its own when something happens.
Steps
- Open Communication → Email.
- Stay on the Broadcasts tab.
- Choose Create Broadcast.
What the figures mean
Four numbers sit across the top, covering your sending as a whole: Total broadcasts sent, Average open rate and Average click rate, both averaged across every broadcast you have sent, and Last broadcast.
Every broadcast then has its own row, with Kannect counting things precisely:
- Recipients: how many people it was sent to.
- Opens: an open is recorded when a recipient opens the email.
- Clicks: a click is recorded when a recipient clicks any tracked link.
- Unsubscribes: how many recipients unsubscribed from your emails after receiving that broadcast.
What you can do with a broadcast afterwards
The actions menu on each row holds three things worth knowing about:
- Duplicate: creates a copy of the broadcast so you can reuse its content and settings.
- Send to new contacts: resends it to contacts who were added after it was originally sent. This is the one people ask for without knowing it exists. A welcome or orientation email can be sent again to everyone who has joined since, without building a list.
- Share on social media: generates a shareable link so you can post the message externally.
