Set approval, status and the welcome message
The last three sections of the plan form: what a new member is greeted with, whether the plan is live, and whether you vet people.
The bottom of the plan form is three short sections that decide how the plan behaves once it is out in the world.
Post-Join Experience
One field, Welcome Message, up to 5000 characters. Kannect's note says exactly when it fires: "Message shown after a member successfully joins on the mobile app."
This is the moment somebody goes from having paid to being in the room, so it is worth more than "Thanks for joining". Say what happens next: where to find the thing they just paid for, who to contact, and the one action you want from them this week.
Plan Settings
Recommended Plan. Tick Mark as recommended to "Highlight this plan as the most popular or best value". The plan then carries a Recommended ribbon on its card in the dashboard and on your website. Mark one plan, not three, or the signal stops meaning anything.
Plan Status. A dropdown with two choices, Active and Unavailable. The note under it is the whole story: "Only active plans are visible on your website."
- Active, live and joinable.
- Unavailable, hidden from your website.
Set a new plan to Unavailable while you are still writing it, then switch it to Active when the descriptions, image, benefits and form are all ready. Switching an old plan to Unavailable is also how you retire it without deleting it.
Approval Settings
One toggle, Auto Approve Members, which "Automatically approve new members after signup".
- Off, the default position to prefer. Each application waits for you in Applications, where you can read what they wrote before letting them in.
- On, anyone who completes the form and pays is a member immediately, with nothing for you to do.
Steps
- Write the Welcome Message.
- Decide whether this is your recommended plan.
- Set Plan Status to Active when the plan is finished, or leave it Unavailable for now.
- Set Auto Approve Members to match how much vetting this plan needs.
- Choose Save Membership. Cancel leaves without saving anything on the form, including the sections above.
