Your community profile
The public face of your organization, and the handle your website lives at.
Settings → Organization Preferences → Community Profile is where you "Edit your public details, mission statement, and overall community presentation."
Kannect's own note at the top is the thing to hold on to: "The information you add here appears on your public community profile in the Kannect mobile app and on your Discover Website. You can update or remove details at any time."
In other words, almost nothing on this page is internal.
The fields
Org Id. Kannect's reference for your organization. You cannot change it, and you will occasionally be asked for it by support.
Organization Name, required, up to 50 characters. The name everywhere: your app, your website, your emails.
Kannect Handle, required, up to 30 characters. "Choose your URL handle for your Kannect website." It is the last part of your Kannect web address, so keep it short, recognisable and free of punctuation.
Organization Type. A list including Nonprofit Organizations, Charitable Foundations, Educational Institutions, Environmental Organizations, Religious & Faith-Based Groups, Arts & Culture Organizations, Social Advocacy & Human Rights, Youth & Student Organizations, Sports & Recreational Clubs, Community Development Groups and more.
Contact Info. General Email (up to 100 characters), Mobile Number with a country code, Website (up to 50), and EIN if you have one.
Address. Country, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State and Postal Code.
Mission, up to 500 characters. Quote, up to 250. About, the long version.
Global Goals. The UN Sustainable Development Goals, from 1 No Poverty through to the rest of the seventeen. Pick the ones your work actually serves.
Logo and Banner Image, each with a Change button. Supported image files are JPEG or PNG.
Steps
- Open Settings → Organization Preferences.
- Stay on Community Profile.
- Fill in the fields.
- Choose Save Details.
Sharing your profile
Two buttons on this page:
- Copy Share Link, the address of your public profile, ready to paste.
- Download QR, the same link as a QR code, for a poster, a flyer, a table at an event, or the back of a business card.
