Welcome to the Kannect Platform. These terms and conditions outline the rules and guidelines for organizations and members using our services.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use are entered into by and between you and Kanexon, Inc. ("Kanexon," "Company," "Kannect," "we," or "us"). They govern your access to and use of the Kannect Platform — including the dashboard at app.kannect.co, the Kannect Community Hub mobile app on iOS and Android, public community pages at web.kannect.co, the Kannect Discover network at discover.kannect.co, and the kannect.co marketing website — together with any content, functionality, and services offered through them (collectively, the "Platform").
Please read these Terms carefully before you start to use the Platform. By using the Platform or clicking to accept these Terms when that option is presented, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
To use the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract under applicable law and have authority to bind the organization.
2. Definitions
- Kanexon, Inc. The company that provides the Kannect Platform.
- Platform. Collectively, the Kannect dashboard, the Kannect Community Hub mobile app, web.kannect.co, Kannect Discover, and the kannect.co marketing site.
- Organization. A nonprofit, school, association, chamber, government agency, faith community, club, or other entity that uses the Platform to run its community.
- Member. An individual associated with an Organization who uses the Kannect Community Hub app to engage with that Organization.
- User Content. Any content an Organization or Member submits, uploads, posts, or transmits through the Platform.
3. Use of the Platform
Organizations. By signing up, your organization agrees to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
Members. By using the Kannect Community Hub app, members agree to comply with these Terms and any additional terms specified by their respective Organizations. Members are responsible for the content they post, ensuring it complies with applicable laws. Members understand that their Organization may have access to information they provide through the app.
4. Account security
We reserve the right to restrict access to parts of the Platform or the entire Platform. We will not be liable if for any reason any part of the Platform is unavailable at any time.
To access certain features, you may need to register and create an account. You must provide accurate and current information. All information you provide is governed by our Privacy Policy.
If you choose or are provided with a username, password, or other credential, treat it as confidential. Your account is personal to you. Do not provide anyone else with access to the Platform using your credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at hello@kannect.co.
We have the right to disable any username, password, or identifier at any time at our sole discretion, including if we believe you have violated any provision of these Terms.
5. Payments and fees
Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can pay monthly or yearly. Plans, prices, and limits are published on our pricing page and apply at the time you subscribe.
For paid events, programs, and memberships processed through Kannect, we charge a 2% platform fee. We charge 0% on donations made to registered nonprofit organizations. Standard Stripe processing fees apply on top, set by Stripe. Refunds are at the discretion of the Organization that received the payment.
A credit card is required to start the 7-day free trial. The card is how Kannect stays verified and spam-free — it stops bots and fake organizations from joining the network. You can cancel anytime during the trial and will not be charged.
6. Your content and your community
The content you and your members add to the Platform — including events, messages, resources, member records, and any uploaded media — belongs to your Organization. You grant Kannect the limited rights needed to host and deliver that content as part of running the service.
To get a copy of your data, email hello@kannect.co. We deliver within 30 days (or sooner where applicable compliance laws require). Self-serve export from the dashboard is on the roadmap. If you cancel your account, we delete your data on the schedule described in our Data Deletion Policy, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Privacy
Kannect respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Intellectual property
The Platform and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including all information, software, text, displays, images, video, audio, the design, selection, and arrangement thereof, and the Kannect Discover network — are owned by Kanexon, Inc., its licensors, or other providers of such material, and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or resell any part of the Platform without prior written consent. You may absolutely use the Platform to build and brand your own community. No right, title, or interest in or to the Platform is transferred to you; all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Trademarks
The names "Kannect," "Kanexon," the Kannect logos, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Kanexon, Inc. or its affiliates. You may not use them without prior written permission. All other names, logos, and trademarks on the Platform belong to their respective owners.
10. Prohibited uses
You may use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use the Platform:
- In any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
- For the purpose of exploiting, harming, or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way.
- To send, upload, or use any material that does not comply with the Content Standards below.
- To impersonate Kanexon, an employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
- To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the Platform.
You also agree not to:
- Use the Platform in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair it, or interfere with any other party's use.
- Use any robot, spider, or automatic device, process, or means to access, monitor, or copy material from the Platform.
- Use any device, software, or routine that interferes with the proper working of the Platform.
- Introduce any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious or technologically harmful material.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, or disrupt any part of the Platform or its underlying systems.
- Attack the Platform via a denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attack.
Content Standards
User Content must comply with all applicable laws and must not:
- Contain material that is defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, offensive, harassing, violent, hateful, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Promote sexually explicit or pornographic material, violence, or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
- Infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property right.
- Violate the legal rights of others, including rights of publicity and privacy.
- Be likely to deceive any person, or promote any illegal activity or unlawful act.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization.
- Give the false impression that they emanate from or are endorsed by us or any other person or entity.
11. Monitoring, enforcement, and termination
We have the right to:
- Remove or refuse to post any User Content for any or no reason.
- Take any action with respect to any User Content we deem necessary, including for violation of these Terms, infringement of any right, threat to user safety, or potential liability.
- Disclose your identity or other information to any third party who claims that material posted by you violates their rights.
- Take appropriate legal action, including referral to law enforcement, for illegal or unauthorized use.
- Terminate or suspend access to all or part of the Platform for any reason, including any violation of these Terms.
You waive and hold harmless Kanexon and its affiliates, licensees, and service providers from claims resulting from actions taken during investigations by such parties or law enforcement authorities. We do not undertake to review all material before it is posted on the Platform.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform, its content, and any services or items obtained through it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Neither Kanexon nor any person associated with Kanexon makes any warranty or representation with respect to the completeness, security, reliability, quality, accuracy, or availability of the Platform.
To the fullest extent provided by law, Kanexon disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any warranties of merchantability, non-infringement, and fitness for a particular purpose. The foregoing does not affect any warranties that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Limitation on liability
To the fullest extent provided by law, in no event will Kanexon, its affiliates, or their licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, or directors be liable for damages of any kind, under any legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Platform, including direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of revenue, profits, business, savings, use, goodwill, or data — whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.
To the fullest extent provided by law, the collective liability of Kanexon and its subsidiaries and affiliates, and their licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, and directors, to any party (regardless of the form of action) will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US $100.00).
The limitation does not apply to liability resulting from our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kanexon, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from or relating to them are governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Delaware in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any legal action arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall be brought exclusively in the federal courts of the United States or the courts of the State of Delaware, although we retain the right to bring an action against you for breach of these Terms in your country of residence.
16. Arbitration
At Kanexon's sole discretion, we may require any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform to be submitted to final and binding arbitration under the Rules of Arbitration of the American Arbitration Association, applying Delaware law.
17. Limitation on time to file claims
Any cause of action or claim you may have arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues; otherwise, such cause of action or claim is permanently barred.
18. Waiver and severability
No waiver by Kanexon of any term or condition shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and any failure to assert a right under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver. If any provision is held by a court to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
19. Modifications
Kanexon reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect on posting. When changes are material, we notify account owners through the dashboard. If you keep using the Platform after a change, you accept the new Terms.
20. Entire agreement
These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Kanexon regarding the Platform and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, and representations.
